The L5P Duramax has proven to be an incredibly stout platform with great performance potential, but the stock GM Allison 10L1000 10-speed transmission limits what can safely be put to the tires on the 2020 to current Silverado and Sierra HD trucks. While the combination performs well together in stock form, adding additional power to the engine through tuning and other performance upgrades can push the transmission beyond its stock capacity resulting in clutch slippage, accelerated component wear and excessive de-fueling strategies.
The RT-A10L-PR Kit is for the every day truck. It sets minimum pressure and boosted pressure to levels that are a match for stock power levels and increased power up to 120HP over stock. Your truck will run better after installing this kit because de-fueling under torque management will be eliminated. The transmission will have enough holding power to allow full fuel delivery and allow your L5P put in the work it was designed to handle. These kits feature a patented pressure relief and boost system and can be installed without removing the transmission. Internal trans cooler thermostat is also bypassed allowing constant coolant flow to the auxiliary cooler and eliminating the possibility of a stuck thermostat preventing fluid from reaching the cooler.
