Wehrli Custom Fabrication - WCFab - 2017+ L5P Duramax

The 5th generation 6.6L Duramax diesel from GM represents a near clean sheet design that applies lessons learned from the prior generation trucks. The L5P was introduced for the 2017 model year producing 445 hp and 910 lb-ft of torque off the showroom floor which represented a 48 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque increase from the outgoing LML (rated at 397 hp / 765 lb-ft). The hardiness of the stock bottom end of this platform is not to be underestimated. During our research and development testing for this motor we have pushed the stock long block assemblies well north of 1000 rwhp repeatedly in both drag racing and truck pulling applications and currently have L5P based engines running in both our Legally Altered and After Hours pull trucks. These engines respond very well to performance tuning and we offer a wide variety of upgrades from air intakes and piping kits to turbo and exhaust components along with built 6 speed Allison 1000 transmissions and TCM tuning to help you put all that extra horsepower to the ground.
